Feb 09, 2026 - FASSelangor FC began the first leg of the 2025/26 Malaysia Cup Quarter-Finals on a positive note after scoring a single goal to secure a 1-0 lead against Negeri Sembilan FC at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi yesterday.
According to Selangor FC’s Head Coach, Kim Pan-gon, he is proud of the players’ character but emphasised the importance of scoring early goals.
“I am very proud of the players over the past seven matches. We have faced many challenging situations, including playing three matches with red cards. While this is not something to be celebrated, the players have done their best and delivered performances that deserve praise. Nevertheless, the team has shown strong character on the pitch. We created many chances in both halves, especially in the early stages of the game, and this is the identity we are building. Creating chances is important, but we also need to learn to score earlier so we can control matches better, maintain cohesion on the field, and make the most of every opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities,” he said.
From yesterday’s first leg of the Malaysia Cup 2025/26 Quarter-Final #NSESFC, several key points were noted:
